Sweet Champagne

Sweet Champagne es el segundo álbum de The Monomes y está compuesto por diez temas originales de puro Monomes rock and roll.

It feels so strange to be out of place
When you know you are breathing in different air
I search for feelings that I try to trace
With a Gin and Tonic rocking in my chair
The taste can spread but I know you aren’t there
And I’ll hide myself in a bottle of beer

Cause my memories are locked inside a box and the key
That would open it is lost inside my secrets
I miss you; I try to find you in my suitcase

The sun is gone but the light still burns
The view up here makes me be the Clear
Let me shake my ball and you will appear
Although I think tonight I might be sleeping here
Cerulean sky torn apart, like a drum like a strum like a tear of my soul
The man stood still with his mind aware

Cause my memories are locked inside a box and the key
That would open it is lost inside my secrets
I miss you, I try to find you in my suitcase

Cause my memories are locked inside a box and the key
That would open it is lost inside my secrets
I miss you, I try to find you in my suitcase
Letra: Rafael Cebrián

Música: Rafael Cebrián, David Hachuel, Edward Morrow, Edward Frank López
Primer single: View

You see the guy you´re gonna miss (a perfect man, a perfect man)
A smile is all you´re gonna get (a perfect smile, a perfect smile)
I´m on the run
I wanna reach far far away
Follow the sun
Walking the road that never ends
You see, he´ll always pay the bills (a perfect match, a perfect match)
He drives the fastest of the cars (a perfect car, a perfect car)
I can be fun
Always two feet above the ground
Watching the crowd
Finding myself in everyone
But I am not a perfect man
So I don´t know what else to say
I could be right or I could be wrong
But I´m dreaming about you (dreaming about you)
Cause I am not a perfect man
you can believe in what I´ve said
you could be right or you could be wrong
but I´m dreaming about you (dreaming about you)
Dreaming about you (dreaming about you)
(Bis)

Oh no here I go!
Are you ready for the show?
I’m about to steal the crown
Gonna send you outta town
All of you cheaters
Check out Saint Peter
Let me take one for the crowd
Grab your friends it might get loud

Now keep it down, be calm, don’t be alarm
I’m everything you hate combined
Get ready or you can stay behind
I’ve got the mic, (STRIKE!) I think you should retire
You’ve done enough after setting up the world on fire

Running out of money
I hear you calling,
Running out of power
Driving off the highway
Running out of money
I hear you calling,
Running out of money
driving of the highway
You wanna know my deal?
Screw the mass appeal
It’s time for giving not receiving that is how I feel
I wish I could go back
In order to attack
All you liars with empires listen to my track:

Oh no here I go
This is how blow your show
Oh no here I go
Like a fuckin’ U.F.O
Arrest me, don’t test me,
My plan is sick amazing, the lights are blazing,
And they can’t wait for curtain raising.

Running out of money
I hear you calling,
Running out of power
Driving off the highway
Running out of money
I hear you calling,
Running out of money
driving of the highway

Tira&afloja, rock&roll.

Are you ready for the show?
Traffic light stop start and go
Shallow paths made of soft walls
Hide and run, where else to go?
Hit and fall my leaking soul
Silhouettes of thoughts knocking on my door
Where my goals are set to blow

Let me rekindle my thrown
Trumpets will welcome me home
Dropping my woes and I’m gone
Come take me away
Here I go again

Crying morning in my new rose garden
Sugarcoated sunlight warming up my dreams
I’m dodging bright blue flowers dancing ‘round my knees
While I start tip toeing in paradise
Shift the gear and go again
Left or right stoically mundane
Filling the aim upon my chest
So undo my knot and prepare to rest

Let me rekindle my thrown
Trumpets will welcome me home
Dropping my woes and I’m gone
Come take me away
Here I go again

Crying morning in my new rose garden
Sugarcoated sunlight warming up my dreams
I’m dodging bright blue flowers dancing ‘round my knees
While I start tip toeing in paradise

There at the bar I traded her a whiskey for cola,
She was a blonde girl and I was an all aloner,
She said “hey boy, now why don’t you buy me flowers?”
I sais “why not? But know that I´m a blissful coward”
The devil’s not always right venid the hidden counter.

This morning I embraced myself,
Her body just absent lying here in my bed,
The sun came up too late, she was not there,
And I found myself lying here all alone again.
Cocaine,
The perfect hallucination for
A really messed up brain,
Go tell me what’s your name,
Or where do you com from cause
You’re driving me insane.

This morning I embraced myself,
Her body just absent lying here in my bed,
The sun came up too late, she was not there,
And I found myself lying here all alone again.

This morning I embraced myself,
Her body just absent lying here in my bed,
The sun came up too late, she was not there,
And I found myself lying here all alone again.

I’ve traveled very far
To see the dancing tzar
She doesn’t know it yet
But baby you’re my rockstar
Don’t think that I’m a fool
Because you make me drool
Come fall into my arms
Cause baby I’m a rockstar

You are not an easy prey
But girl you are on display
I’m gonna take my chance
Cause Baby you’re my rockstar
Our passion will ignite
Until the morning light
Come fall into my arms
Cause baby I’m a rockstar

There’s gotta be a way
(to bring you home today)
I’ll fly you back to Spain
(and dance in sweet champagne)
I’m walking down the line
(to make our worlds align)
Girl you make me go insane!
Together we combine
Our bodies intertwine
I’m gonna make my chance
Cause baby you’re my rockstar
Lets make our weapons merge
And end this sexual urge
Come fall into my arms
Cause Baby I’m a rockstar

Hot sweat I’ll make you spread
It’s fine, Ill go ahead
I’m gonna make my chance
Cause baby you’re my rockstar
I’m burning in your fire
And throbbing with desire
Come fall into my arms
Cause baby I’m a rockstar

There’s gotta be a way
(to bring you home today)
I’ll fly you back to Spain
(and dance in sweet champagne)
I’m walking down the line
(to make our worlds align)
Girl you make me go insane!

Back to the wall, cornered alienation
Fight give it all, who’s the big man
Stop pushing me, musical starvation
You’re blind to see, smelly trashcan
Bite, sting and stab, keep it undercover
1-2-3-4, out the front door

You can’t correct my ways
Cause I work night and days
My world without control
Man up it’s rock and roll

Watching the clock, running like a comet
D-Dirty laws, keeping me behind the time
Bite, sting and stab, keep it undercover
1-2-3-4, out the back door
You know, I don’t care, Oh no I don’t care
No no I don’t care, you better listen to me:
Don’t mess with my flare, I’ve got none to share
Don’t breath in my air, why don’t you stop and stare
You can’t correct my ways
Cause I work night and days
My world you can’t control
Man up it’s rock and roll

You can’t correct my ways
Cause I work night and days
My world you can’t control
Man up it’s rock and roll

Man up it’s rock and roll…

Man up it’s rock and roll…

It’s cool, you are gone
I am here crying on my own
While you still out there,
Saying a little prayer,
Guess what no one’s gonna help you.

I was down, now I’m healed,
Cause there’s no pain at all,
Just for you to know
I did follow the law
Although with you I hit a giant wall.

But it’s okay, it’s okay,
There will be a day,
Where you’ll regret and feel ashamed,
That mistake in L.A.
But it’s okay, it’s okay,
You’ll find someone to play,
Someone like you, a one night love
That can be thrown away.

I bet for you, I trusted you
Johanna what did you do?
We had it all, a life together,
Where could have we found better?
So don’t act like I am the one,
you thought you were the one,
so you thought you were the one, I’m gone…

It’s okay, it’s okay,
There will be a day,
Where you’ll regret and feel ashamed,
Of that mistake in L.A
But it’s okay, it’s okay,
You’ll find someone to play,
Someone like you, a one night love
That can be thrown away.

It’s okay, it’s okay,
There will be a day,
Where you’ll regret and feel ashamed,
Of that mistake in L.A
But it’s okay, it’s okay,
You’ll find someone to play,
Someone like you, a one night love
That can be thrown away.

A big black gap and I’m riding alone,
I’m back on the track and it’s a path of my own,
21 but I say 24,
24 times that you’ve closed up the door

She said it’s a lie but I swear it’s not,
I swear I might but she says I won’t
21 but I say 24,
24 times that you call on my door

Don’t try to make me do things I do not want to do to you
And hide or not be quite myself, or not be quite myself
I said it’s a lie but she say it’s not
Again and again it goes on and on
21 but I said 24
24 times that you’ve knocked at my door

Don’t try to make me do things I do not want to do to you
And hide or not be quite myself, or not be quite myself

Don’t try to make me do things I do not want to do to you
And hide or not be quite myself, or not be quite myself

You don’t understand, you don’t understand
When you take a life, you are taking mine
You don’t understand, you don’t understand
What we’ve been growing with patience and love has fallen apart

A normal day, everything seems all right
A thirteen year old, with a gun in his hand
He left for school, waving goodbye
Not knowing that now, there is no way back.
All that was given, he will take it away
He doesn’t even care, there are more to blame.
Then shoots a poor girl, that was running late
She falls and she bleeds, with no time to flea.
You don’t understand, you don’t understand
When you take a life, you are taking mine
You don’t understand, you don’t understand
What we’ve been growing with patience and love has fallen apart

The feeling of pain, never felt it before
I know it’s not easy, that there isn’t a cure.
Stop looking away, Quit turning around
Silence and Violence would sure turn you down.

You don’t understand, you don’t understand
When you take a life, you are taking mine
You don’t understand, you don’t understand
What we’ve been growing with patience and love has fallen apart
